The Northern Ireland Assembly is now recruiting for a new Northern Ireland Public Services Ombudsman. The role of the Ombudsman is to investigate complaints of possible maladministration in the delivery of public services by public bodies. The Ombudsman also discharges the role of the Northern Ireland Judicial Appointments Ombudsman and Local Government Commissioner for Standards.
The Ombudsman is an officer of the Assembly, emphasising the independence of the Office from the Executive. The post was vacated in July 2019 with the departure of Marie Anderson. The current Acting Ombudsman is Mr Paul McFadden.
The closing date for applications is noon on 1 June 2020. Please see the website of the Northern Ireland Assembly for an Application Form and full application details.
