The care and treatment of a patient in Antrim Area Hospital
A woman complained that the Northern Trust should have consulted her and her family when making decisions around the care of her late mother.
We found the Trust's decision making at the time was appropriate, but were critical of the way it dealt with her complaint.

We asked the Trust to apologise to the woman for the delays in responding to her complaint.
We also asked the Chief Executive to remind staff investigating complaints of the need to provide clear, full and accurate responses within a reasonable timeframe.
We further recommended that the Trust provides the woman with a full and clear response to her question as to whether anyone was with her mother when she died.
