Concerns about treatment of care home resident should have been passed on sooner

The Belfast Trust failed to keep a proper record of how it responded to allegations from a whistleblower.  It should also have informed the resident’s wife of the allegations at an earlier stage.

Report recommendations

We asked the Trust to make sure the learnings from the report are communicated to relevant staff.

We also asked the Trust, as soon as is practical, to determine whether the resident was eligible for continuing healthcare.
