Patient felt ‘let down’ by GP Practice

A woman complained that her GP failed to uphold a commitment to monitor her mental health problems. We partially upheld the complaint.

Report recommendations

We found that the care and treatment provided to the patient that was in line with relevant standards. However, we asked the practice to apologise because of its failure to monitor the patient's mental health.

We also asked it to review its Home Visit Procedure so that GPs record all home visits prior to them being undertaken, and to ensure they complete patient notes after a visit.
