We partially upheld a complaint from two sisters who believed that the Trust ignored their concerns when it came to the care of their mother in a nursing home.

The Ombudsman has recommended staff training in a Trust to help improve communication with patients who become distressed during post-birth procedures.

The Trust accepted its failings and our recommendations into record keeping after the patient’s mother raised concerns about both staff communication and the administration of medication.

Our investigation found that the South Eastern Trust failed to properly assess the risks faced by a patient, and could have done more to help him before his death.

Our report found that an endometriosis patient did not receive hormonal treatment to help her condition during her four year wait for surgery.  We also found that the health trust only invited her for hospital appointments when prompted to do so by the patient and her GP.

We found that the South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust dealt with a complainant’s concerns fairly, but were critical of the time it took to address them.

An investigation has concluded that the South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust managed a mother's induced labour appropriately, and found that a delay in giving her antibiotics was not the cause of an infection to her and her baby.

An investigation into complaint from a man who believed he would not have developed cirrhosis of the liver if he had received proper medical attention has found that his care was 'appropriate and reasonable and in accordance with good medical practice.'
