Delay in providing shoulder surgery for patient was ‘unreasonable’

A man complained about how his late wife was cared for after she suffered a fall.  We upheld parts of the complaint.

Report recommendations

We asked the Trust to consider advice obtained from our Independent Professional Advisor around staff carrying out second reads of radiological images in real time.

We also also asked it to look at its communication mechanisms for notifying patients with fractures once they have left the Emergency Department.
